Lord Botetourt had quite a few athletes receiving post-season conference, region and state honors for the 2017 spring season. Included were the following.
For girls soccer, Sara Bane was named first team All-State in Group 3A while sister Hannah Bane and Hallie Catron were second team All-State.
All Region 3A West girls from Botetourt included Sara and Hannah Bane and Catron on the first team with Hannah Leonard, Alexis Borovich, Hannah Martin and Alex Heck on the second team.
Sara Bane was named Conference 31 Player of the Year, and joining her on the first team were Hannah Bane, Catron, Leonard Martin, Borovich and Heck. Second teamers were Heather Finley, Autumn Bonhotel, Sydney Harris, Mary Randall Plunkett, Sidney Keyes and Makenzie Collins.
For the LB boys soccer team, Blake Johnson was named second team defender All-State Group 3A and first team on the All-Region 3A West team. Second team all-region were Trey Rice, Blake Myers and Isaac DeHart and Matt Smith was honorable mention.
All-Conference first teamers were Johnson, Smith, Rice Myers and DeHart, and second teamers were Jacob Booth, Corey Hackett and Bryson Sanchez.
In softball, Hannah Mundy was first team All-Region 3A West and Kaitlyn Deeter was second team.
In Conference 31, Mundy was the Player of the Year and other first teamers were Deeter, Maranda Switzer, Meredith Wells and Maia Folk. Second team selections were Maegan Barnes, Mary-Hannah Jackson, Emma Layman and Kloe Bacon.
Cheryl Shockley was named Coach of the Year in the Blue Ridge District.
Ty Maust was Player of the Year in baseball in Conference 31, as well as first team All-Region 3A West at shortstop and second team All-State in Group 3A.
Caleb Franklin was a first team All-Conference 31 second baseman. Second team All-Conference were Patrick Kepler on the mound and Hunter Duke in the outfield.
