The Lord Botetourt boys soccer team split back-to-back games with William Fleming as both times the visiting team came up victorious.
Last Friday at Fleming the Cavaliers took a 2-1 win over the Colonels. Jacob Booth and Kyle Wood scored for LB as the Cavs scored late in the game to pull out the win.
On Monday in Daleville it was Fleming who took a 2-1 win, scoring the deciding goal during stoppage time. Matt Smith scored for LB.
“Obviously both games were very competitive,” said LB coach Tim Wright. “We struggled to adjust to their long ball approach, coupled with key mistakes that hindered our progress in the second game. Overall I am impressed with how we played. Playing matches like this benefits us come tournament time.”
The Cavs are now 7-2-2 overall and 3-2 in the Blue Ridge District. They’ll host Staunton River Friday night.
