The Lord Botetourt indoor track team qualified eight athletes for the state meet when the Kerr-Cregger Indoor Fieldhouse played host to the Region 3D last Saturday.
The LB boys were third and the girls took sixth place in the meet, with Abingdon sweeping the team championships. First place winners for Lord Botetourt included Maddie Malue in the girls 55 hurdles, Dylan Knick in the boys 55 hurdles, DJ Toliver in the shot put and the boys 4×200 relay team of KJ Bratton, Knick, Cade Lang and Joey Isaacs.
Bratton finished second in the 55-meter dash and set a new Lord Botetourt indoor record with a time of 6.65. Jillian Harris took third in the 55 hurdles, Joey Isaacs took third in the 55 dash and fourth place finishes went to Rye Jackson in the 1,000, Evan Gates in the 3,200, Jonah Clark in the 55 hurdles and the 4×400 relay team of Falan Peters, Anna Hoover, Karley Burks and Elizabeth Meadows.
Qualifying for the state meet were Malue and Harris in the girls 55 hurdles, Knick in the boys 55 hurdles, Bratton and Isaacs in the 55 dash, Toliver in the shot put and the 4×200 boys relay team.
