LB had defeated Northside, 5-0, in the region semifinals before falling to the Blue Demons on Memorial Day at the Roanoke College courts. At press time Spotswood and Liberty Christian Academy were battling for the Region 3C championship. The Cavaliers will go to the site of the winner on Friday for a state quarterfinal match.
Botetourt No. 1 Tyler Meade defeated Alex Dennis of Staunton River, 6-0, 6-0, in his opening round singles region match at Virginia Tech. Meade then lost to Ben Facciani of Hidden Valley in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-4.
The Lord Botetourt doubles team of Meade and Conner Tilley were playing in the region on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
