Myrtle Jane Childress, 92, of Roanoke, left us to be with her Savior on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Myrtle was a member of Grace Bible Church in Daleville since 2005. The first day she attended she brought many others with her and prayed that the church would be friendly and preach by the Bible. Those prayers were answered as soon as she walked in the door and since then she was known as the Grace Bible Church “Ambasador.”
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Nelson; parents, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by two brothers, Preston and Bud; and one loving sister, Shirley. Myrtle was retired from Hollins University of 31 years. She wore many hats and loved helping family and others either physically or in prayer.
Visitation was held from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastors Jay Robinette and Doug Witt officiating.
