Ebenezer UMC Fall Bazaar
Ebenezer United Methodist Church will host its Fall Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 8a.m. till noon. There will be sausage biscuits, sausage gravy and coffee on the breakfast menu and hot dogs on the lunch menu. There will be a bake sale, crafts and white elephant sale. Vespers bluegrass service Sunday
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church invites the community to its Appalachian Vespers casual bluegrass service on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. in Eagle Rock at Emmanuel Chapel. The musicians will be Virginia Carolina. There will be refreshments afterwards at the Eagle Rock Firehouse.
Revival Sunday at New Beginnings
New Beginnings Assembly of God will have a one-day revival on Sunday, Nov. 18. There will be special music and guest speakers will be the Rev. Kenny and Dr. Anita Williamson. The day begins with breakfast from 9:30-10:30 a.m., with the service following. Everyone is invited. The church is located at 1317 Narrow Passage Road, Buchanan.
First Baptist celebrating pastor’s anniversary
First Baptist Church of Fincastle, located at 6529 Blue Ridge Turnpike, Fincastle, will celebrate the 13th pastoral anniversary of the pastor, the Rev. Montie E. Brown Sr., on Sunday, Nov. 18 during the 11 a.m. service. Minister Dollie Adams will be delivering God’s message. Refreshments will be served directly after. Everyone is welcome.
Cowbell service at PleasantDale
PleasantDale Church of the Brethren on Breckinridge Mill Road will hold a cowbell service at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. There will be preaching and special music. Everyone is welcome.
Springwood Baptist Thanksgiving service
Springwood Baptist Church invites the public to a church service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, with Pastor Brian Clingenpeel and a Thanksgiving meal afterward. Bring a vegetable and dessert. There will be a joint service at 7 p.m. with Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church at Springwood Baptist on the same day. Springwood Baptist is at 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan.
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop
Christmas is just around the corner. The Thrift Shop has lots and lots of Christmas decorations and Christmas gifts. It also has some great outfits for that Christmas party and a good selection of fall and winter jackets and coats. The shop is open each Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Mount Olivet Christmas Bazaar
Mount Olivet United Methodist Church is holding its annual Christmas Bazaar Saturday, Dec. 1 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church, 26310 Lee Highway, Buchanan.
Breakfast and lunch will be available. There will be a bake sale, items made by the Mount Olivet Quilters and other vendors, along with music by Eagle Mountain Band.

St. Mark’s Christmas Fair Dec. 1
St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville will host its 42nd annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church’s Family Life Center.
More than 35 local crafters will join with the church to offer crafts, decorations, wreaths, antiques, jewelry, the St. Mark’s Cookbook and much more. Also for sale will be Whaley’s Pecans, both halves and chopped, packaged in one-pound bags. The Botetourt Town & Country Women’s Club will host its annual silent auction during the sale.
The bakery area will offer homemade cakes, pies, candies and other special holiday goodies. Look for canned items including St. Mark’s Apple Butter and Donna’s Pickles.
Breakfast will feature baked oatmeal, breakfast casseroles, sausage biscuits and biscuits with gravy. Lunch follows with Petros-in-A-Bowl, hot dogs with chili and many toppings.
Church members have created a handmade queen-size ”Reindeer Magic” quilt which is a 9-patch variation square with mini sleighs, gifts, stockings and more. Donation tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and these will be sold at the registration table. Drawings for the quilt and several door prizes will be held at 2 pm.
Monies raised will support mission projects and the Building Fund.
Thanksgiving service in Troutville
There will be a community Thanksgiving service on November 20 at 7 p.m. The service will be held at the Troutville Baptist Church, 5520 Lee Highway, Troutville. Participating congregations are Troutville Baptist, Cave Rock Baptist, and Troutville Church of the Brethren. Come give thanks to God. Refreshments will be served after the service.
