Mill Creek sponsoring Fishing Rodeo May 4
The Greater Outdoors Ministry at Mill Creek Baptist Church will have its annual Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, May 4 from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Camp Bethel. Lunch will be served and there will be door prizes. It is open to everyone.
Solomon’s Mission fundraiser May 4
Solomon’s Mission will hold its first fundraiser of the year on Saturday, May 4 from 8-11 a.m. Solomon’s will be offering pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage, bacon, juice, water and coffee. Cost is $8 per plate; children 6 to 12, $5. Children 5 and under eat for free. Eat in or take out.
Crossroads Baptist hosting Richard Kiser

Bake sale to benefit Rise Against Hunger
Buchanan Presbyterian Church is beginning fundraisers for this year’s Rise Against Hunger food packing event. To make the event happen, they need your help to raise the $4,200.
The first fundraiser is a bake sale on Friday, May 17 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Buchanan Town Hall. If you can bake a goodie or two for this event, contact the church office at 254-1390 or talk with Liz Provost, the chair of the church’s Mission & Outreach Committee that is sponsoring this packing day.
The actual food packing day will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Buchanan Fire Station on Main Street from 9-10 a.m. for setting up work stations and from 10 a.m.-noon for the packing the food packets.
Last year, the community packed 15,120 food packets with 85 volunteers working together. This year, they’d like to achieve that same number or more. All ages and all organizations are invited to participate in this vital feeding ministry.
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop has a great selection of gifts for Mother’s Day. The shop has new Fossil purses and other new name brand purses for only $5 each. It is open each Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Buchanan Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) says to “save the date” June 9-13, 6-8 p.m., for Celebration by the River at the Buchanan Flea Market site.
Pico Cemetery needs funds
Pico-Styne-Nofsinger Cemetery in Buchanan is in need of funds. Donations are needed to have the cemetery mowed and maintenance done.
