Springwood Food Pantry dates
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on March 6 and March 20 from 10 a.m. until noon. Additionally, Feeding America Southwest Virginia’s produce delivery vehicle, the “Veggie Mobile,” will be onsite on both dates to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to community members in need free of charge. This program is part of the food bank’s Mobile Produce Program. Stop by and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to get fresh, healthy produce.

Ebenezer UMC pancake supper March 5
Ebenezer United Methodist Church is having a pancake supper on Tuesday, March 5 from 5-7 p.m. Donations will be accepted. There will be pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy. All are welcome. Ebenezer is located at 85 Nace Road, Troutville.
Children’s Mission Month at Pleasant Hill
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church invites the public to March Children’s Mission Month. Each Sunday in March will feature a guest ministry spokesperson to present a brief summary of their mission work in this area.

Revival at Cedar Bluff, music by Route 11
Cedar Bluff Baptist Church will be holding a one-day revival on Sunday, March 10 at the 11 a.m. service. This will be followed by a potluck lunch to be provided by church members in the fellowship hall. Afterwards, there will be a music program presented by the group, Route 11, consisting of David Austin, Mike Lee, Ray Sloan, and Keith Wood. Everyone is invited to attend.
Fellowship meal at Galatia
Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church invites the community to a fellowship meal at noon on Monday, March 11. Snow/ice will cancel. The church is located at 78 Gala Loop Road, Eagle Rock.
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop
February’s special at the Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop is slacks. All women’s and men’s slacks are only 50 cents each. There also is a great selection of sweaters for only $1 each. The shop is open every Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Bonsack consignment sale March 2
The Bonsack Baptist WEEC (Weekday Early Education Center) Spring/Summer Consignment Sale will be held Saturday, March 2, beginning at 8 a.m. in the new Community Life Center at Bonsack Baptist. T
his is non-profit organization and all proceeds from the sale directly benefit the local preschool. It is completely run by volunteers. The one-day consignment sale will host items ranging from maternity to teens to toys to nursery decor. As a fundraiser, this consignment sale is a one-of-a-kind event.
Pancake supper at Trinity Episcopal
Trinity Episcopal Church on Main Street, Buchanan, will have a pancake supper from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5. Everyone is welcome to this longstanding community tradition fundraiser. The cost is $7 for adults with children 12 and under eating free with a paying adult. The menu includes homemade pancakes and maple syrup, sliced ham, fresh cut pineapple and oranges, coffee and iced tea; dine in or carry out.
Fincastle UMC Wednesday services for Lent
Fincastle United Methodist Church will hold five weekly Wednesday Lenten Services and Lunch beginning on March 13 in the Family Life Center, 137 South Church Street, Fincastle. These 20 minute services begin at 12:05 p.m. and will be led by area pastors. A home-cooked lunch will follow each service. The service and meal are designed to last about one hour. Child care will be provided. Takeout meals will be available. The schedule for this year’s services is:
- March 13 – The Rev. David Dickerson, Fincastle Presbyterian Church, Fincastle; Lunch – Potato Bar, Chili, Salad, Desserts
- March 20 – The Rev. Tom Powers, Daleville Church of the Brethren, Daleville; Lunch – Chicken Salad Croissants, Vegetable Salad, Chips, Dessert
- March 27 – Rev. The Rob March, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Fincastle; Lunch – Ham Biscuits, Macaroni Salad, Deviled Eggs, Desserts
- April 3 – The Rev. Willis Logan, Fincastle Episcopal Church; Lunch – Vegetable Soup, Sausage Corn Chowder, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Fruit, Desserts
- April 10 – The Rev. Fr. Stephen McNally, Church of the Transfiguration, Fincastle; Lunch – Chef Salad, Jell-O Salads, Desserts
The lunch menus are subject to change. If Botetourt County Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather, the service will be canceled.
Everyone is invited to attend these services during the season of Lent.
Colonial Baptist Church to host ABC
The 40-member Chorale from Appalachian Bible College will present “Christ is Enough-Songs of His Sufficiency” on March 3 at Colonial Baptist Church in Blue Ridge. The service begins at 9:30 a.m. and a nursery and children’s program are available during the presentation. There is no charge. Call the church office at 977-5683 for more information.
