Fincastle United Methodist’s Annual Church BBQ is Saturday, May 3 at the VFW on Route 220, dine in or take out between 4-7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the church during business hours of Thursday, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Or call 540-473-2437 and leave a message for your call to be returned. Some tickets will be available at the door.
Donations needed for Mt. Bethel Cemetery
Donations are being accepted for the upkeep of the Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The cemetery is located on Rt. 43/Narrow Passage Road near Eagle Rock. Please mail donations to Etta Alexander P.O. Box 5, Eagle Rock, 24085.
Cloverdale Thrift Store spring sale
Spring has arrived at the Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store with a wide selection of new items and brand-name shirts for $1. Donations are greatly appreciated. The store is open Saturdays, 9 to 12.
Churches holding golf tournament
Springwood Baptist Church and Wheatland Lutheran Church are holding their second annual Feeding Friends Golf Tournament on May 3 at Botetourt Swim & Golf Club. The proceeds from the tournament support both food pantries and the Garden of Grace at Wheatland Lutheran.

Eagle Rock Clothes Closet dates
The Eagle Rock Community Clothes Closet at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church, 14565 Church Street, will be open Saturdays, May 3 and 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and Wednesday, May 7, from 5 to 6 p.m.
Available are men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing as well as shoes and some toys at no charge. Bags are provided and patrons are asked to honor the bag limit so as many people as possible can be served. Pleasant Hill Baptist food boxes available May 10
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will have food boxes available Saturday, May 10, from 9 till 10:30 a.m.
Pick them up at the church on Country Club Road or at the Eagle Rock Library.
National Day of Prayer observance in Eagle Rock
Thursday, May 1 is National Day of Prayer. A group is meeting at the Eagle Rock Library at 12 noon to pray for the nation and the world. After the meeting, attend a Dutch treat lunch at Iron and Ore in Eagle Rock.
Community Meal May 12 in Eagle Rock
The Eagle Rock (formerly Galatia) Potluck Community Meal will be Monday, May 12 at 12 noon at the Eagle Rock Community Center, next to the Eagle Rock Post Office. Bring a dish or dessert to share and come for good fellowship and food.
Donations needed for Springwood Cemetery repair
Springwood Baptist Church has a contract of $5,000 for stonework in the “old” cemetery. Approximately 29 marked stones will be straightened and leveled, along with reassembling many broken stones.
