Andrew Chapel to hold Ash Wednesday service
Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church will observe the first day of the Lenten season with an Ash Wednesday service on February 22 at 7 p.m. This service is open to the community and all are welcome. Andrew Chapel is located at 3936 Beaver Dam Road, just off Springwood Road in Springwood.
Community Meal at Galatia March 6
A Community Fellowship Meal will be held at Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Monday, March 6, at 12 noon. Baked spaghetti, bread sticks, salad, tea (sweet/unsweet), lemonade and coffee will be provided. Bring a dish or dessert and come.
Cloverdale Brethren Food Pantry open
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Food Pantry is open to the public Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Galatia to install new pastor March 12
Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church at 78 Gala Loop Road, Eagle Rock, invites the community to the installation service of the new pastor, the Rev. Emily B. Hook, on March 12 at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
Lenten Services and Lunches at Fincastle UMC
Fincastle United Methodist Church invites you to five Wednesday Lenten Services and Lunches beginning on March 1 in the Family Life Center, 137 S. Church Street, Fincastle. These short 20-minute services begin at 12:05 p.m. and will be led by area pastors. A home-cooked lunch will follow each service. The service and meal are designed to last about one hour. Takeout meals will be available.

GriefShare begins March 2 at St. Mark’s
St. Mark’s United Methodist Church will begin a new season of GriefShare on Thursday, March 2. Anyone who has lost a loved one is welcome at either of the two sessions: 10-11:30 a.m. or 6:30-8 p.m. A video will be viewed at the beginning of each class with group discussion to follow. There is a workbook that will be given free to all participants that can be used to take notes with the video and then taken home with devotionals that can be read during the week. The group will meet in the fellowship hall honoring the optional use of facemasks and distancing.
Call the church office (540-992-3030) or email Peggy (ploo1010@comcast.net) with any questions or to sign up for the class. There are 13 weeks of lessons. If weather causes Botetourt schools to close, the group won’t meet.
Glade Creek Baptist Easter Egg Hunt
Glade Creek Baptist Church will have an Easter Egg Hunt for infants to age 13 from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. Activities will include the egg hunt, “Carrot Patch,” live animals, bubble machine, photo booth, story time, temporary tattoos, art table, and food (hot dogs, chips, cookies, drinks).
