Special music at Fincastle United Methodist

Fincastle United Methodist Church Administrative Assistant Heather Mitchell and her father, Bill Snyder, sang a beautiful duet of “The Prayer” on July 16. Sunday worship services are at 10 a.m. and everyone is welcome.

 

Back-to-School Fun’ at Troutville Park

Troutville Baptist Church will host “Back-to-School Fun Time” from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 29. In addition to a free bag of school supplies and free hot dogs, students will participate in games with prizes and drawings.

 

Mt. Joy Church Homecoming

Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren will celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, August 4. Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. There will be special music by Family Circle. A potluck meal will be served after the worship service. The church is located at 2565 Buffalo Road, Buchanan. Everyone is welcome.

 

VBS at Springwood Baptist

Springwood Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School on Wednesday. July 26, through Friday, July 28, from 6-8:30 p.m. The theme is “Carnival Under the Big Tent with God!” for all ages. Go to the website website to register: Springwoodbc.org. There is a VBS registration to click on and fill out.

 

Movie night at Trinity UMC

Trinity United Methodist Church is hosting a family movie night in the fellowship hall on Friday, July 28. The movie, “One Foot in Heaven,” starring Fredric March and Martha Scott, will begin at 6:15 p.m., with doors opening at 6.

Bring your favorite non-alcoholic beverage to enjoy with the free popcorn.

Trinity UMC is located at 19637 Main Street, Buchanan.

 

‘Noah’ coming to Woodland Church

Woodland Church is presenting the spectacular “Noah” by Sight & Sound Theater, Lancaster, Pa., on Thursday, August 3, at 7 p.m. The three-hour video presentation includes an intermission with light refreshments. A church spokesman said this is a wonderful opportunity to see this production at no cost – it’s the church’s gift to the community (child care will not be provided).
