Spring Fling this Saturday at Solomon’s Mission

Solomon’s Mission on Lowe Street in Buchanan will have its first Spring Fling this Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for the porch that is being built.

Food will be available– one hamburger or two hot dogs, chips and water for $5. Vendors will include Colorstreet, Scentsy, Back Road Designs, Sew Down Crafts, Pampered Chef, Lighted Creations by Pam, Aariw Clay Co., handmade wooden crafts, spring and Easter items. Proceeds from the bake sale will go to Buchanan Baptist Youth’s Nicaragua mission trip this June.

 

Springwood Food Pantry open Saturday

The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on Saturday, March 20, from 9-11 a.m. The pantry is located at 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan. Clients are asked to remain in their cars and food orders will be delivered to them. Additionally, clients are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and use proper hand hygiene while visiting the pantry. These measures will help to keep everyone safe as food is picked up. The pantry is a partner with Feeding America Southwest Virginia and distributes USDA food on the third Saturday of each month to clients.

 

Springwood Baptist lists Easter events

Springwood Baptist Church invites the public to the following events happening in March and April.

  • March 28 – Easter Egg Hunt at 9:45 a.m. Drive-in church to follow.
  • April 2 – Good Friday service at 7 p.m. Drive-in church
  • April 4 – Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m.; continental breakfast at 8 a.m.; drive-in worship service at 9 a.m.

Masks and social distancing will be observed for all events.

The church is located at 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan.
