Men’s and Women’s Day at Lapsleys Run Baptist
Lapsleys Run Baptist Church’s Annual Men and Women’s Day will be held on Sunday, March 10, at 11 a.m. The speaker for the service will be the Rev. David W. Halsey, Sr. and deceased members and friends will be honored. There will be a morning service only.

Date change for Buchanan Food Pantry
Ordinarily, the Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry is held the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. There is a date change for March. As usual, the Pantry will be open the second Saturday of the month, March 9, hosted by the Buchanan Lions Club. The second distribution of the month will be March 16, hosted by St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
To be clear, the March dates for the Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry are March 9 and March 16, from 9 a.m. till 11a.m. Anyone who needs food is welcome. The church is at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.
Pleasant Hill food distribution March 9
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will have food boxes available March 9 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the church, 4930 Country Club Road, Troutville, and at the Eagle Rock Library.
Daleville Baptist revival March 10-13
Revival services with Kenny Grant of Savannah, Ga., will be held at Daleville Baptist Church March 10-13. Services will be held Sunday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday through Wednesday, March 11-13 at 7 p.m. Grant has led revival services at Daleville Baptist for several years. The public is invited to attend; 375 Orchard Drive, Daleville.

St. Mark’s Choir to present cantata
The Chancel Choir of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Daleville, will present the cantata, “The Weeping Tree,” on Sunday, March 24 at 10 a.m. This presentation is a profoundly moving work for Holy Week – a poignant portrait of the cross that uses beloved hymns, newly composed music, thoughtful narration, and simple sacred symbols to create a touching testament of grace. All in the community are invited. “The Weeping Tree” was written by Joseph Martin, a premier composer of sacred church music. The Chancel Choir is directed by Deborah Wiley and accompanied by Cara Hubbard.
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church news
PHBC will host Movie Night on Friday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. The featured movie will be “The Hill,” the remarkable true-life story of Rickey Hill’s improbably journey to play major league baseball.
Every second Saturday of the month, the PHBC Food Pantry gives out free boxes of food. These boxes are filled with over $50 in food staples and paper products. You may pick up the free boxes of food at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (4930 Country Club Road) or at Eagle Rock Library. On March 23 at 11 a.m., PHBC will host the annual Easter Egg Hunt for children ages toddler-5th grade. There will be a separate egg hunt for littles. Refreshments will be provided and the Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

Fincastle UMC Lenten services
Fincastle United Methodist Church invites you to five Wednesday Lenten services and lunches in the Family Life Center, 137 S. Church Street, Fincastle. These short, 20-minute services begin at 12:05 p.m. and will be led by area pastors. A home-cooked lunch will follow each service. The service and meal are designed to last about one hour. Takeout meals will be available.

Big sale at Cloverdale Thrift Store
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store is having a ladies denim sale, all reduced to $1 a pair. All books (hardback and paperback) are 10 cents each; shoes, boots, and house shoes are 25 cents a pair; and ladies and men’s tops are $1 each. Easter decorations are available. Hours are Saturdays, 9 to 12; donations are appreciated.
Easter events at St. Mark’s UMC
St. Mark’s United Methodist Church will be hosting a community-wide Easter event on Saturday, March 30 from 9-11 a.m. There will be a “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” from 9-10:30 a.m. During this time, there will be activities for the children and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The cost of breakfast is: children under 3, free; children 3-1, $6; and children 12-adults, $12. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the TAME–“Rise Against Hunger” meal packing event. Other donations for this ministry will also be accepted. You can pay for your breakfasts at the door.
At 10:30, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt and other fun Easter-themed activities. This part of the event is free to those who attend.
