Our Savior Lutheran Church invites community to Gratitude Sunday
Celebrating a year of blessings in the community, the family at Our Savior Lutheran Church welcomes everyone to a relaxed afternoon of food, fun and friendship at 9068 Cloverdale Road in Troutville on Sunday, May 19, from noon-3 p.m.
Our Savior invites the community to the BBQ picnic, activities and conversation to celebrate neighborhood friends and families. The festivities start at noon, but all are also welcome at worship at 10 a.m.
“We have enjoyed meeting so many new friends and neighbors this last year,” Pastor Paul Workentine said, “that we wanted some way to thank our community for welcoming us. We are excited by our new neighborhood and the welcome we’ve received as we look forward to serving our community by sharing the love of Jesus. Please come and join us for some relaxing food, fun, and friendship. We’d love to meet you.”
Shiloh Community Center available to hold events
The Shiloh Community Center is available for events. It is located on Shiloh Road across from Shiloh United Methodist Church, 519 Shiloh Road, Eagle Rock. Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store
With summer around the corner, the Thrift Store has a large selection of shorts and capris for $1 and summer shoes for everyone, $1.The Thrift Store is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations are welcome.
Shiloh Cemetery needs donations
Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery on Shiloh Road, Eagle Rock, is asking for those who have loved ones buried in the cemetery or own plots to give monetary donations to help with the upkeep of the cemetery. Expenses for gasoline, equipment and labor have gone up. If you have any questions, call 540-620-2625, or are interested in a final resting place. Donations being accepted for upkeep of Mt. Bethel Cemetery
Donations are being accepted for the upkeep of the Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The cemetery is located on Rt. 43/Narrow Passage Road near Eagle Rock.
