Pleasant Hill food distribution this Saturday

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will have a food box distribution on May 11 from 9 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. or all boxes are given out. Locations are at the church and Eagle Rock Library.

 

Buchanan Food Pantry open Saturdays

The Buchanan Lions Club will be hosting the Food Pantry at Buchanan Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 11. The hours are 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. Anyone in need of food is welcome. The church is at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.

 

Eagle Rock Clothes Closet May dates

The Eagle Rock Community Clothes Closet, located at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church, 14565 Church Street, Eagle Rock, will be open Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Wednesday, May 8, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The Clothes Closet has ladies’, men’s and children’s clothes at no charge. To make clothing donations or volunteer to help with this mission, contact Pastor Ray Sandifer at 540-525-0258.

 

Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store

With summer around the corner, the Thrift Store has a large selection of shorts and capris for $1 and summer shoes for everyone, $1.The Thrift Store is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations are welcome.

 

Galatia Community Meal moving to Community Center

The Galatia EPC Potluck Community Meal is moving from Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church to the Eagle Rock Community Center and will be held on the second Monday, every other month. The next Potluck Community Meal will be Mondayss, May 13 at 12 noon.  Bring a dish and come for good food and fellowship.  Galatia EPC will be providing plates, cups, napkins and eating utensils. Drinks will also be provided.

 

Mother’s Day Tea at St. Mark’s UMC

The TAME (That All May Eat) Ministry at St. Mark’s United Methodist will host the fourth annual Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds from this event will go towards packing 10,000 meals for the Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing this September.

Enjoy the atmosphere of a tearoom serving “High Tea” in the church fellowship hall or get tea boxes to go. One box is $20. Two boxes are $36. Three boxes are $48 and four boxes are $60. Five or more boxes are $16 each. Children under 12 are $10. To reserve meal/meals, go to the church website, www.stmarksmethodist.com, or call 540-966-3629 and leave a message.

 

Shiloh Cemetery needs donations

Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery on Shiloh Road, Eagle Rock, is asking for those who have loved ones buried in the cemetery or own plots to give monetary donations to help with the upkeep of the cemetery. Expenses for gasoline, equipment and labor have gone up. If you have any questions, call 540-620-2625, or are interested in a final resting place. Make checks payable to Shiloh Cemetery and send to: Shiloh Church Cemetery, c/o Sharon Britt, 1281 Salt Petre Cave Road, Eagle Rock, 24085.

 

Donations being accepted for upkeep of Mt. Bethel Cemetery

Donations are being accepted for the upkeep of the Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The cemetery is located on Rt. 43/Narrow Passage Road near Eagle Rock.

Please mail donations to Mt. Bethel Cemetery, c/o Etta Alexander, P.O. Box 5, Eagle Rock, 24085.

 

Get on board with Joyful Journey Travels

There is still time to enjoy a trip with Joyful Journey Travels, an outreach ministry of St. Mark’s UMC in Daleville. Trips are geared to older adults but all ages are welcome. Grandparents often take their grandchildren along. Full details of these trips can be found on the church website, www stmarksmethodist.com, and the church Facebook page. The 2024 Joyful Journey trips are:
