St. Mark’s UWF collecting toothpaste for prison
The United Women in Faith (UWF) of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville is supporting the Virginia Kingsway Prison and Family Outreach Ministry by collecting toothpaste for inmates participating in the Kingsway Christmas Program.
The group’s goal is to collect 8,600 tubes of toothpaste by October 21. Support from the Botetourt community would be greatly appreciated to help in this outreach effort by contributing toothpaste donations before the October 21 deadline.
Donations must meet correctional facility requirements: alcohol-free toothpaste, 3- to 6-ounce tubes, packaged in individual boxes, and single tubes only.
“This small gift can make a big difference,” said a spokesperson for the UWF. “The Kingsway Christmas Program reminds those who are incarcerated that they are not forgotten, and that compassion and grace extend beyond prison walls.”
The Kingsway Prison and Family Outreach Ministry provides Christian support and encouragement to inmates and their families across Virginia. Each year, the ministry coordinates Christmas gift packages and personal care items for distribution to correctional facilities.
