Rising Mount Zion Youth Celebration
Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church invites the community to join in fellowship at 291 Sinking Creek Road, Eagle Rock, on Sunday, July 30 at 11 a.m. for a Youth Celebration.
The speaker will be Alex Hampton, a 2013 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School. He attended Mount Union (Ohio) and is a current student at Emory & Henry College.

Solomon’s Mission offers free school supplies Saturday
Solomon’s Mission on Lowe Street, Buchanan, will have Back-to-School Day on Saturday, July29 from 9 a.m.-noon.
Children in grades K-12 will receive free school supplies, book bag, lunch box, one bag of clothing, while supplies last, and a haircut if needed. Families will get a free hot dog meal. The child must be present.

Cloverdale Thrift Shop
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop has a great selection of young teen dresses, shorts, tops and skirts; also infants and children’s clothes. It also has a large inventory of men’s pants and shirts, all sizes, and women’s tops and shoes. The shop is open each Saturday, 9 a.m-1 p.m.
First Baptist ‘Family, Friends Day’
The First Baptist Church of Fincastle will have its annual “Family and Friends Day” on Sunday, July 30, at 11 a.m. Minister Marilyn Brown, Associate Minister at Main Street Baptist Church, Clifton Forge, will bring God’s message. The Glorylanders from the New River Valley will render the music. Dinner will follow the service. The dress attire is casual. All are welcome. The church is located at 6529 Blue Ridge Turnpike; the Rev. Montie E. Brown Sr. is pastor.
Homecoming at Mt. Joy
Mt. Joy Church of the Brethrn will celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 6. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m and the worship service at 11 a.m. A potluck meal will be served arter the worship service. The church is located at 2565 Buffalo Road, Buchanan. Everyone is welcome.
Pleasant Hill Teacher Appreciation
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will host a Teacher Appreciation and Commissioning Service on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 11 am.

Friends of Praise will be leading worship at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, Aug. 27 for Bluegrass Sunday. All are invited for the 11 a.m. celebration of good old gospel hymns and songs.
First Baptist Youth Event
The First Baptist Church of Fincastle located at 6529 Blue Ridge Turnpike, Fincastle, will sponsor a Youth Workshop and a Back-To-School Event with the theme “Planting For Jesus.” The fun will kick off on Friday, August 4, from 6-8 p.m. with a movie, food and drinks. Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, a full day has been planned with guest speakers from the Virginia State Police and RAYSAC. Included in the Saturday activities will be a youth “rap” session. An inspirational message will be given by the Rev. Sean Burch, pastor of First Baptist Church Amsterdam. Youth and parents are invited to attend. Lunch will be served and all are welcome. Limestone Park Family Fun Night Aug. 4
Family Fun Night will be held at Limestone Park Ministries on Friday, August 4 from 8:30-10:30 p.m. There will be swimming, games, corn hole and more. Members are free, non-members $5, and under 6 free.
