Second Saturday Lunch, clothing sale at Solomon’s Mission
Solomon’s Mission is having its Second Saturday Lunch on March 9, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Mill Creek Baptist Church will be providing the free lunch of chicken nuggets, pinto beans, greens, chow chow, vegetable sticks, dessert and a drink.
Also for whole month of March, buy one bag of clothing, get one free to make room for incoming spring items.
Lapsleys Run Baptist Men’s, Women’s Day
Lapsleys Run Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Men’s and Women’s Day on Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker for this service will be Elder Randall Allen accompanied by the congregation from First Church of God in Christ of White Sulfur Springs, W.Va. Lunch will be served following the morning service. Everyone is invited to attend these and all services at Lapsleys Run Baptist Church.
Pork barbecue fundraiser at Mill Creek March 9
Mill Creek Baptist Church is hosting a pork barbecue fundraiser dinner on Saturday, March 9 from 4-6 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The menu consists of a pork barbecue sandwich, baked beans, slaw and a drink. Desserts will be available for an additional charge. You may eat in or take out. Tickets are $6. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Advance tickets are highly recommended and may be purchased by contacting Pat Shotwell at (540) 793-2128. All proceeds will benefit the Mill Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
Barn dance to raise funds for Addy Grace Playground
Bonsack Baptist Church is hosting a Family Barn Dance to benefit the Addy Grace Foundation All-Abilities Playground from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. Tickets are $6 per person or $30 for a family. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for food, with dancing beginning at 6 p.m. Items will be auctioned, along with a fun Children’s Easter Basket raffle. All are invited to the evening of family fun while helping to bring a long-overdue, all-accessible playground for people of all abilities to the area.
Springwood Food Pantry dates
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on March 6 and March 20 from 10 a.m. until noon. Additionally, Feeding America Southwest Virginia’s produce delivery vehicle, the “Veggie Mobile,” will be onsite on both dates to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to community members in need free of charge. This program is part of the food bank’s Mobile Produce Program. Stop by and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to get fresh, healthy produce.

Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop is having a March special. Men’s and women’s fall and winter jackets and vests are only $1 each; men’s and women’s sweaters, 50 cents each; men’s and women’s slacks, 50 cents each; and children’s and infants’ clothes, 50 cents each. The shop accepts donations Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and is open each Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Children’s Mission Month at Pleasant Hill
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church invites the public to March Children’s Mission Month. Each Sunday in March will feature a guest ministry spokesperson to present a brief summary of their mission work in this area.

Revival at Cedar Bluff, music by Route 11
Cedar Bluff Baptist Church will be holding a one-day revival on Sunday, March 10 at the 11 a.m. service. This will be followed by a potluck lunch to be provided by church members in the fellowship hall. Afterwards, there will be a music program presented by the group, Route 11, consisting of David Austin, Mike Lee, Ray Sloan, and Keith Wood. Everyone is invited to attend.
Fellowship meal at Galatia
Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church invites the community to a fellowship meal at noon on Monday, March 11. Snow/ice will cancel. The church is located at 78 Gala Loop Road, Eagle Rock.
Springwood Baptist Note Burning Service
Springwood Baptist will have a Note Burning Service on March 31, with lunch to follow the service. Fried chicken will be provided by the church and members are asked to supply side dishes and desserts. All are invited.
Fincastle UMC Wednesday services for Lent
Fincastle United Methodist Church will hold five weekly Wednesday Lenten Services and Lunch beginning on March 13 in the Family Life Center, 137 South Church Street, Fincastle. These 20 minute services begin at 12:05 p.m. and will be led by area pastors. A home-cooked lunch will follow each service. The service and meal are designed to last about one hour. Child care will be provided. Takeout meals will be available. The schedule for this year’s services is:

The lunch menus are subject to change. If Botetourt County Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather, the service will be canceled.

Buchanan Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) Lenten services
The Buchanan area churches invite the public to attend ecumenical worship services during the season of Lent leading up to Easter Sunday morning. The services begin with worship followed by the Word being preached. Each service that begins at 12 noon will conclude with a free light lunch in that church’s fellowship hall. The services held at 7 p.m. will have a time of fellowship and refreshments. All are welcome to each service. Any questions, call 580-6810.
