Buchanan Presbyterian Church will be hosting the BAMA Food Pantry on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9-11 a.m.
The Annual Hot Dog Handout will take place on Halloween night Tuesday, Oct. 31.
PleasantDale BBQ dinner Oct. 28
PleasantDale Church of the Brethren will have a BBQ dinner Saturday, Oct. 28 from 4-6 p.m. The $8 meal includes BBQ on bun, baked beans, slaw, dessert and drink. A Cow Bell Service will follow at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Cloverdale Thrift Shop fall sale
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren will have its annual Christmas Bazaar on November 4 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Several vendors will be there with lots of exciting items for sale. Breakfast and lunch will be available.
The Thrift Shop will be open with gifts for the entire family. The shop is open each Saturday, 9 a.m-1 p.m.
Mill Creek Baptist fish fry Oct. 28
Mill Creek Baptist Church is hosting a fish fry from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. The menu will consist of fish, parsley red potatoes, slaw and a corn muffin. Drinks will be provided for those eating in. The meal is $8, eat in or take out. Homemade desserts will be available to purchase.
Advance tickets are recommended but a limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Call Sue Sweet, 797-2304; Pat Shotwell, 797-2128, or the church office, 992-3474, between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The church is located at 11475 Lee Highway, Fincastle.
Cow Bell Service at Mt. Joy
Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren will hold a Cow Bell Service on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. The church is located at 2565 Buffalo Road, Buchanan. Everyone is welcome.
October events at Springwood Baptist
Upcoming events at Springwood Baptist Church include:
October 28 – Pulled Pork BBQ made by Aaron’s Smokehouse from 5-7 p.m.; cost will be $6 for two pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, cole slaw, baked beans and a canned drink. Desserts will be extra cost.
October 29 – Doing Fall Festival a little different this year. After church, will be having the Third Annual Nerf Gun Battle with the adults, including Pastor Brian, against the kids; great fellowship and the kids love ganging up on the pastor.
Church of God of Prophecy Fall Bazaar Saturday
Botetourt Church of God of Prophecy will hold its Fall Bazaar from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. It will be at the VFW Hall on Roanoke Road between Fincastle and Daleville. There will be crafts of all kinds, baked goods and a silent auction. Breakfast of sausage gravy and biscuits, and sausage, egg, bacon ham and country ham biscuits. Lunch will include hot dogs with homemade chili, potato salad, macaroni salad, chili beans and soup. Admission is free but a can of food for the food pantry will be appreciated.
Bonsack Baptist Craft Expo
Bonsack Baptist Church is holding its Craft Expo from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4. The public is invited. More than 40 vendors will be participating, along with The Pie Lady with her pot pies. The Craft Expo will be held in the new Community Life Center, 4945 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke.
Mill Creek Baptist is drop-off site for Operation Christmas Child
Mill Creek Baptist Church is a drop-off location this year for Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child Boxes.
