Bonsack Baptist consignment sale
The Bonsack Baptist Church Weekday Early Education Center (WEEC) consignment sale will be held Saturday, Sept. 16 beginning at 8 a.m. in the new Community Life Center at Bonsack Baptist.
This is non-profit organization and all proceeds from the sale directly benefit the local preschool. It is completely run by volunteers. The one-day consignment sale will host items ranging from maternity to teens to toys to nursery decor.

Bob Jones team coming to Colonial
Colonial Baptist Church in Blue Ridge invites everyone to an evening of drama with the Bob Jones University Drama Team on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. The team will present “To Theophilus,” dramatic vignettes on the Book of Luke. A nursery will be provided and a love offering for the team will be received. Colonial Baptist is located at 221 Hillcrest Street in Blue Ridge. Springwood Food Pantry dates
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on September 6 and September 20 from 10 a.m. until noon. Additionally, Feeding America Southwest Virginia’s produce delivery vehicle, the “Veggie Mobile,” will be onsite on September 6 to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to community members in need free of charge. This program is part of the food bank’s Mobile Produce Program. Stop by and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to get fresh, healthy produce. In the future, the “Veggie Mobile” will visit the Springwood Baptist Food Pantry on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m..

Cloverdale Thrift Shop fall sale
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop has a large selection of fall clothe for the entire family. All shirts, tops, pants and shoes for men, women and children are only $1 each. The shop is open each Saturday, 9 a.m-1 p.m.
Yard sale at Mt. Bethel
Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren is having a big yard sale Saturday, Sept. 9, 8 a.m.-?, rain or shine. There will be household items, men’s, women’s and small children’s clothes and lots of miscellaneous. Hot dogs, drinks and bake sale items will be available. A bag sale (all you can get in a bag for $1) begins at 12:30 p.m. The church is located three miles east of Eagle Rock on Narrow Passage Road.
Upcoming event at Pleasant Hill
Pleasant Hill Baptist will host a First Responder/Law Enforcement Sunday on September 10 at 11 a.m.
The public is invited to join the congregation in honoring local firefighters, EMS and law enforcement officers.

Mt. Pleasant Homecoming Sept. 10

Bingo at Wheatland Lutheran Church
Members of the community are invited to play Bingo at the September meeting of Sharing God’s Grace at Wheatland Lutheran Church. The meeting will begin at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19 with lunch served by the ladies of the church. Bingo will follow lunch and small prizes will be awarded to the winning cards. Upcoming events at Springwood Baptist
Springwood Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming and 185 years on Sunday, Sept. 27. After the service with Pastor Brian Clingenpeel, a potluck lunch will be shared (bring your favorite dishes). All are invited for fellowship and a special time of looking back on 185 years of the church.
On Sunday, Sept. 24, the church has scheduled the baptism of Wesley Ferguson at 5 p.m. at Aaron Park.
Blue Ridge Brethren anniversary, revival
Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren will celebrate its 130th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 17, beginning with worship at 11 a.m. David Shumate, District Executive with the Virlina District office, will be the guest speaker.
A luncheon and social time will follow in the fellowship hall with music by Family Circle from Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. Sunday School will be at 9:45 a.m.
This also will be the first day of revival, during worship service, and revival services will be continued on Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. with light refreshments to follow. Special music also will be presented each night.
Monday night will be a Cowbell Service with music by Silver Notes from Bedford. On Tuesday night, former pastor the Rev. Marty Doss will be the guest speaker with special music by Kelly Maxwell.

Oriskany Homecoming Service September 17
This year’s Homecoming celebration at King Memorial Community Church in Oriskany will take place on Sunday, Sept. 17. The worship service begins at 11 a.m. followed by fellowship and the traditional potluck lunch on the grounds. This year the church celebrates its 113th year in Oriskany. Everyone is welcome to attend the worship service and the meal following.
