Buchanan will once again host its annual Civil War History Weekend Friday-Sunday, April 28-30.
The weekend event allows visitors to explore one of the lesser known sites of the War Between the States in downtown Buchanan.
There will be a variety of re-enactments including one when General McCausland and his Confederate troops fight to secure the bridge over the James River delaying General Hunters fiery Raid of the Valley.
History comes alive in downtown Buchanan with living history camps, Sutler’s Row, a camp dance and a period church service. For more information and a schedule of events, see next week’s Fincastle Herald or visit www.townofbuchanan.com
