Queenie Johns Clark, 88, life-long resident of Eagle Rock, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hoover Clark; parents, Teddy and Ethel Branham Johns; nine siblings; and son, Marshall Clark.
Born in Clifton Forge, Mrs. Clark was a homemaker, caregiver, and private sitter to many. Just as her brothers and sisters, she was very attentive to detail, was set in her ways, and liked things to be accomplished in a particular manner. She loved having family reunions and keeping the family together. Mrs. Clark was deeply involved in her Native American roots; she was a member of the Monacan Indian Nation and collected artwork and relics of her Tribe. She often went to elementary schools sharing her knowledge and relics. Her legacy will thrive for many generations.
Queenie is survived by her children, Katherine Clark and her husband, Frank Thomas, Larry Clark and his wife Sherry, and Randy Clark; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Goldie Hambrick; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Pauline Rowan, private sitter; Medi Home Health and Hospice; MSA Healthcare staff, Heather Hurd, Allie Cundiff, Jessica Dowdy, and Kim Holbrook for their outstanding care given to Queenie.
Her visitation was held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home from 2:30 to 3:30, followed by a memorial service led by Elder I. Ray Sloan. Memorial donations may be made to Eagle Rock Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 234, Eagle Rock, VA 24085. Those wishing to send a condolence, please do so at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com or 540-884-2276.
