Sherry Lynn Spangler Clark, 65, of 924 Alleghany Avenue, Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va.
She was born February 16, 1954 in Clifton Forge to Ruth Persinger Spangler and the late Bernard M. “Tootle” Spangler Sr. She served in the United States Air Force, and was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She loved spending time at the beach and with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David Michael Clark of Clifton Forge; her mother, Ruth Spangler Bush; a daughter, Stephanie LePard Clark and husband Christopher of Winchester; a son, John LePard Sr. of Iron Gate; a sister, Christie Spangler and fiancé Glenn Perdue of Clifton Forge; a brother, Bernard M. “Tooty” Spangler and wife Vicki of Ruther Glen; four grandchildren, John LePard Jr., Taylor Allen, Kansas LePard, and Charlotte Clark; two great-grandchildren, Taylynn and Taige; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Beverly Parchen.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with her nephew, David Clark, officiating. Interment was in Iron Gate Community Cemetery, Iron Gate. Pallbearers were John LePard Jr., Homer Warren, Dickie Conner, David Buchanan, James Davis, Will Davis, Leonard Clark and Chad Clark.
