Andrew “Tony” Cole, 68, of Cloverdale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 after a 17-year battle with cancer.
He proudly served 20 years, retiring from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of MSGT. Tony was a member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge No. 190 and loved gardening, woodworking, and fishing amongst many other fond hobbies. Tony had a knack for the extreme, whether it be the size of his shoe collection or the extravagance of Christmas lights. One of his favorite lifetime activities was to travel, which he enjoyed doing with his best friend, Vicki. He was a very devoted husband, father and friend. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Vicki West Cole; two daughters, Jenna Tollar (Craig), Erin Henderson (Dylan); one grandchild, Palmer Henderson, and a second grandchild on the way.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date by the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Carilion Clinic Foundation’s Sunshine Fund, which supports cancer patients receiving treatment at Blue Ridge Cancer Center. Donations should be sent to Carilion Clinic Foundation, C/O Sunshine Fund, 903 S. Jefferson St., Roanoke, VA 24016. Arrangements were by Oakey’s East Chapel and Crematory, 540-977-3909.
