Tryouts for the baseball Commonwealth Games will be held tonight in Lynchburg. Players who are on target to graduate in 2021, ’22 or ’23 are eligible to try out for this prestigious team.
Lynchburg City Stadium will be the site of tryouts tonight, June 17, beginning at 5 pm. West Region All-star coach Rodney Spradlin and staff will conduct the tryouts.
Prospects should show up with proper equipment, ready to play. The cost of the tryouts in the past was $20 but this year the fee has been waved and players are welcome to try out at no charge.
The Commonwealth Games competition is an all-star event held July 17-19 at Liberty University. The top high school players in the state of Virginia will represent four regions in an eight game playoff. College coaches and major league scouts will be in attendance.
