Vincent James Cottone Jr., 78, departed this life on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Lewis Gale Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Vincent was born on June 9, 1940 in Racine, Wis., a son of the late Vincent James Cottone Sr. and Antonina Cola Cottone. He was also preceded by a sister, Virginia, and a brother, Jerry Cottone.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again; and so it will be for those who have died in Christ. God will raise them to be with the Lord forever. Comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 17-18
Vincent served proudly in the United States Army as a post photographer at Fort Myer in Arlington. He later retired from U.S. Commerce Department where he created and maintained aerial and nautical maps.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Dixie; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Herb Stauffer, Tina and Mike Hughes; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Amanda Cottone; a brother, Jim Cottone; grandchildren, Antonina, Brooke, Natalie, Gavin, Dominic, and Angelica; great-grandchild, Graham; many nieces and nephews.
Vincent was a very loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. There was not anything he would not do for someone he cared about. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Vincent’s birthday, June 9, 2019. The place and time will be determined closer to the date of the service.
