Botetourt County Communications sent a press release Friday about the launch of the new “BOCOFacts4U” website.
In the press release, the county states that it strives to be as transparent as possible with the community and are pleased to announce the launch of a new comprehensive webpage to educate citizens, businesses, and visitors about factual information that is happening in the county.
BOCO Facts 4 U (www.bocofacts4u.info) was created to correct misinformation spread through the county– namely, information found on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter.
The county stated in the release that they “appreciate residents who seek truth over false information shared throughout the community. Administration believes that great discussions of county issues must be based on facts and not assumptions, innuendo, or false narratives.”
Administration asks residents to contact their offices if they wish verification about information about the community. Or, if residents have questions, contact county administration by phone at (540) 928-2000 or by email.
Botetourt County also invites the public to sign up for Notify Me! Notify Me allows residents to receive county information, alerts, agendas, and events delivered via email.
