The Lord Botetourt and James River track teams will be in Salem Thursday to compete in a big indoor meet at the Roanoke College Cregger Indoor Fieldhouse. The meet is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
Lord Botetourt competed in the Walter Bass High School Invitational at Liberty University last weekend and has some strong performances, including a couple school records. Caleb Miller broke the school record in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.92 seconds, placing 9th overall, and Alicia Holmes broke the school record in the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet. Alicia also placed 2nd in the shot put and 4th in the long jump
Eric Duncan placed 3rd with a personal best 4:24.55 in the 1600m. He also placed 5th with another personal best of 9:24.58 the 3200m run. Karleigh Brown improved on her PV record to 7 feet.
“We had a lot of personal bests from Saturday,” said coach Tra Wilson. “The kids are working hard and we are pleased with their progress. Still more work to be done.”
