Botetourt County’s two COVID-related grant programs have application deadlines of Oct. 16, 2020. During the Sept. 22 meeting, the Board of Supervisors voted to approve an extension of the application deadlines until Oct. 16 to give every eligible small business and farm operation in the county ample opportunity to apply. The Small Business Incentive Grant and Farm Operation Grant programs have been available for Botetourt County’s small businesses affected by the pandemic and the county’s farms that received Farm Service Agency assistance.

Each of the county’s libraries is available to assist applicants. The Department of Economic Development staff will also be available on Oct. 14 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to assist small business and farm operators with completing their applications. Applicants may visit the Greenfield Education & Training Center at 57 South Center Drive in Daleville to meet with economic development staff to complete their applications. Small business grant applicants should have copies of their business license, articles of incorporation or sole proprietorship documents, and an employee head count to complete the grant application. Farm operation grant applicants should have a copy of the Farm Service Agency-Coronavirus Food Assistance Program deposit confirmation or approved application. Economic development staff will have a table at the Greenfield building entrance to meet applicants.

Questions about these grant programs can be directed to Ken McFadyen, Director of Economic Development, at 928-2140 or by email to kmcfadyen@botetourtva.gov.
