Preston Lee Crawford, “PawPaw,” 78, of Eagle Rock, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Preston was born on January 25, 1945 in Botetourt County. He enjoyed hunting, camping and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob “JB” and Nettie Crawford; grandson, Dustin Byrd; brother-in-law, David Alexander; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Alexander.
He is survived by his daughter, Christy (Patch) Robinette of Bluefield, W.Va.; and son, Justin (Rebekah) Crawford of Eagle Rock; grandchildren, Justin Michael (Ashley), Jacob (Taylor), Brittany (Shanah) and Adam Crawford; great-grandchildren, Leya and Lexus Crawford, Callen and Colten Byrd, Connor, Adaline and Aaden Davis; brothers, Jessie (Mildred) and James “Ed” (Janice) Crawford; mother of his children, Ima Jean (Shields) Compton; sisters-in-law, Doris “Sis” (Carroll) Johnson and Teresa Alexander; brothers-in-law, Lee (Etta) and Clayton Alexander; many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Interment was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Eagle Rock.
