Members of Cub Scout Pack 211, sponsored by St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville, helped prepare Greenfield Elementary School for the start of School on August 11. The Scouts’ service project was to work in the back of the school pulling weeds, applying mulch, and trimming the bushes along the sidewalk. The Cubs also gave the school a Friendship Bench they built and decorated themselves. The bench gives students in the school’s amphitheater a place to sit in the shade of the building.
Cub Scouts welcomes elementary school (K-5) aged boys and girls into a world of doing things, with fun activities used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Pack 211 invites you to its open house August 17 at 5:45 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 21 Cedar Ridge Drive, Daleville. Visitors will have a chance to join Pack 211 and begin their quest to build the world’s fastest Pinewood Derby car, learn about nature and earn special recognitions and awards.
