David William “DW” “Dink” Denny II, 50, of Roanoke, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 22, 2021.
David was born in Roanoke July 23, 1970, grew up in Botetourt and lived in Roanoke the past 26 years. He was a 1988 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, served briefly in The United States Army, and was currently Team Leader for Trivium Packaging in Roanoke.
David was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting deer, and rabbit with his beagles, Spark Plug and Gramps. He was a fan of Staunton River High School football, following his nephew’s high school football career intently; a fan of the Washington Redskins; and was a NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon.
David was preceded in death by his father, David William Denny; and stepfather, Watson C. “Biddy” Jennings. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Daisy and Richard Newcomb of Fincastle; sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Tim DiDomenico of Moneta; his nephew, Lucas DiDomenico of Moneta; nieces: Amanda Markham and her fiancé Andrew Milks, and Brittney Funderberk of North Carolina; great-niece and great nephew: Emma and Grayson; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville with Ben Peyton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
