The Botetourt County Courthouse in Fincastle is currently being torn down, with the eastern side along North Roanoke Street coming down last week. Many residents and visitors gathered to watch, snapping photos and videos of the historic building’s demolition. County Capital Projects Manager Rich Evans will be giving a talk on Thursday, May 8, at 4 p.m. at the Fincastle Library about updates, plans, and the project’s future goals.

Evans shared last week that he doesn’t yet know when the full demolition will be finished as certain elements of the building are still being examined. Last month, Evans provided the county Board of Supervisors with a detailed update that is available in the April 9 edition and online at https://fincastleherald.com/evans-provides-update-on-courthouse-project.
