Both Lord Botetourt and James River are scheduled to run in the Alleghany Invitational cross country meet this Saturday.
LB ran in the “Cougar Clash” in Dublin last Saturday, hosted by Pulaski County. Jefferson Forest swept the team results while the Botetourt girls were third and the boys were fourth.
Sophomore Sydney Vokus was second overall in the girls’ race. Ashley Laneve of Jefferson Forest won the race with a time of 19:29 and Vokus was 28 seconds behind at 19:57. Lauren Duff was 12th, Katie Cross was 17th, Anna Hoover was 18th and three Cavaliers were 21st through 23rd, Molly Caldwell, Brooklyn Hornback and Gracie Barron. There were 37 girls in the race.
Freshman Tyler Meade led the LB boys with a seventh place finish among 40 runners. He had a time of 17:49 while the winning time was 16:52 by Jed Dudley of Jefferson Forest. Also scoring for LB were Evan Poff at 17th, Andres Hernandez in 19th, Cole Stelter in 25th and Evan Gates in 28th place.
