Dorothy Jones Helmintoller, 95, of 744 Glen Wilton Road, Eagle Rock, died Friday, May 7, 2021 at her residence.
She was born September 28, 1925 in Roanoke to the late Robert Hamilton Jones and Bettie Ann Simmons Jones. She was a laborer for H.O. Canfield. She was a member of First Christian Church in Covington and the Women of the Moose in Clifton Forge. She enjoyed going to church and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Elwood Helmintoller; a daughter, Patty Dawn Helmintoller Seibel; two sisters and a brother.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry McCoy and husband Robert of Roanoke; two sons, Alvin Helmintoller of Glen Wilton and Wayne Lindsay and wife Brenda of Iron Gate; six grandchildren, Traci Spencer, Melinda Hinkle and husband “R.J.”, Josh Lindsay, Terry Windsor and wife Rebecca, Michael Seibel and wife Maggie, and Jessica LeeAnne Lee; nine grandchildren; and two nephews. The family would like to thank Mountain Regional Hospice for their excellent care.
A graveside funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 11, at 1 p.m. in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in Botetourt County with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
