The Eagle Rock Improvement Association (ERIA) is having a homemade baked goods sale on the front porch of Maw & Paw’s Diner in Eagle Rock on Friday, Oct. 9, beginning at 11 a.m. Homemade cakes, pies, brownies, cupcakes, muffins and breads will be sold – no store-bought baked goods.
Monies raised at this bake sale will go towards ERIA’s Historical Lime Kiln Preservation project. At one time, a total of nine kilns were in operation in Eagle Rock and employed over 100 people. However; the production of making lime ceased in 1954 and the kilns were all closed. There are three lime kilns remaining.
