James River High School senior Nathan Etzler of Troop 333 recently completed his required Eagle Scout project. He took on the project of replacing the current walkway entrance to the Botetourt Food Pantry in Fincastle. He led a team that removed the previous brick walkway, then designed and installed a new one.
Etzler had professional support from Ian Hensley of Dirt Works Landscaping and Rud Peters of The Landscape Store.
Boy Scouts from Troop 333 and Troop 211 also volunteered to help him with this project. In total, they donated 97 hours of their spring break to the Botetourt Food Pantry.
So proud of these kids!
Other than the power tools – which they left to the professionals – they did all of the work on their own!
They put heart and soul into it.
