Recently, Travel + Leisure named the towns of Fincastle and Buchanan as two of the ‘Best Small Towns in Virginia.’ Travel + Leisure is a travel magazine based in New York City. Published 12 times a year, it has 4.8 million readers, according to its corporate media kit.
In the article written by Jennifer Price, she highlights Buchanan’s “picturesque” setting, noting, “The small urban center features various locally-owned eateries and shops, and the town hosts multiple festivals throughout the year.”
Price’s take on Fincastle mentions that “Fincastle rivals Williamsburg with its historic buildings, such as an old jail and blacksmith shop. However, the town also has art galleries, wineries, and a pie shop for those with non-historical interests.”
Some of the other surrounding towns mentioned in the article include Bedford, Floyd, and Luray.
