The Town of Fincastle’s annual Christmas Parade will take its regular route through the town Saturday, Dec. 2. It kicks off at 2 p.m. from the Breckinridge Elementary School parking lot. Line up is at 1 p.m.
This year’s Grand Marshall is Helen Morris. Morris retired from Botetourt County Health Department as a health nurse and has done a lot of volunteer work since she retired, including helping at the Red Cross Bloodmobile in Fincastle, Fincastle Christmas Parade and helping senior citizens.
A variety of homemade floats will be judged on originality, theme, beauty and effort, with the winners earning cash prizes.
The parade will include marching bands and other marching units, horses and, of course, Santa Claus.
Cub Scout Pack 82 will continue its tradition of collecting non-perishable food items along the parade route. The food collected will go to the Botetourt Food Pantry.
The rain date is Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.
