Fincastle Chapter 797, United Daughters of the Confederacy held an Iron Cross Dedication for Pvt. Fleming B. Caldwell, Burk’s Regt., Local Defense. The July 8 ceremony took place at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery and was attended by a number of Caldwell descendants who paid tribute by placing a wreath and flowers on the grave.
