The Botetourt Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) continued its long tradition of providing frozen turkeys to several Botetourt food pantries for Thanksgiving. The Longbeards made the delivery of 335 turkeys on November 5 to the Botetourt Food Pantry in Fincastle, Troutville Baptist Church Food Pantry, Buchanan (BAMA) Food Pantry at Buchanan Presbyterian Church, Springwood Baptist Church Food Pantry and the Eagle Rock Ruritan Club. Longbeards members who distributed the turkeys included (from left) Ned Honts, Billy Booze, Jimmy Wilhelm, Ed McCoy and Richard Pauley. The members expressed their appreciation to the food pantries’ volunteers who work year round for those in the community who need assistance.
