Dupree Family Cemetery
This cemetery, which is also known as ELBethel, is located on Wheatland Road on private property.
James R Dupree was born in 1836. He died in 1920. He was the son of Davis and Rebecca Dupree.
Hannah E. Dupree, wife of James Dupree, died in 1908 at age 71. Hannah or Ann as she is named in the marriage index was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Williams.
John Shank served in Co K 57th VA Inf. CSA. There are no visible dates. On the death certificate, John died in 1918. He married Elizabeth Dupree in 1856 in Botetourt County. In the 1880 census, this couple had five children. John was the son of Michael Shank. Elizabeth was the daughter of Davis and Rebecca Inman Dupree, and the sister of James R. Dupree. Davis and Rebecca came to Botetourt from North Carolina.
Elizabeth R. Sink was born in 1867 and died in 1927. She was the daughter of John Shank and Elizabeth Dupree.
