ALCOVA Mortgage LLC honored Lois Fritz from Buchanan as a 2017 Hometown Hero during a ceremony Friday at her New Freedom Farm. Fritz has established the farm as a non-profit to serve military veterans suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma and substance abuse. The farm is also home to rescue horses that are used in the therapy. ALCOVA presented Fritz with a $500 check as a Hometown Hero. Branch Partner Jamie Bailey from the ALCOVA Mortgage Office in Vinton made the presentation. On hand were ALCOVA representatives (from left) Matt Combatti, Ernie Chandler, Lois Fritz, Jamie Bailey, James Niday and Edie Saunders, along with friends, volunteers, local veterans and Town of Buchanan officials.
