The Botetourt Genealogy Club has decided to postpone the Botetourt County Genealogy and History Fair due to concerns related to COVID-19. It will likely be rescheduled for mid-2021. The fair was originally scheduled for July 9-12 of this year at Breckinridge Elementary School.
Rena Worthen, one of the organizers, said that the decision was made to ensure the safety of those who were planning on attending.
She stressed that table reservations will be transferred to the 2021 fair.
“I’m just disappointed,” Worthen said. “It’s a big deal not being able to have it with the 250th anniversary of the county.” Despite her disappointment, she said she hopes the event will end up being bigger than originally planned.
