John and Lucy Gillaspie will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on August 11. They were married on that date in 1959 in Vinton by the Rev. Lewis Bates.
They have two children, Robin Covington (Ralph) of Roanoke, and Tammy (Doug) Puckett of Vinton; and one granddaughter, Amanda Naff (Darren) of Roanoke.
They lived in Vinton for 25 years before moving to Blue Ridge in 1996.
