The fourth annual Glebe Memorial Green Short Game and Cornhole Tournament will take place over the course of three days, September 30, October 1 and October 2, at the community in Daleville. Ten teams will play 18 holes to raise money for The Glebe Endowed Fund for Benevolence. The fund is used to subsidize fees for residents who have outlived their financial resources.
Residents, family members and vendors tee off September 30 at 9 a.m. Play will continue through October 2. Cornhole will be played on October 2. So far, more than $5,000 has been raised.
This year’s tournament is in memory of Virginia “Flash” Reynolds, a Glebe resident who passed away, and Earlynn J. Miller, a of event coordinator Pam Renga. Renga, also a Glebe resident, founded the event in 2018 to combine her love of golf with the fundraising to support benevolent needs.
