Vinson Lee “Vince” Gray, 80, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
He was preceded by his parents, Etheyl and Gladys Barker Gray; and a sister, Judy White.
Mr. Gray was a member of Edgewood Christian Church and retired from Norfolk Southern Corporation after 38 years of service. He was a volunteer at the Virginia Museum of Transportation and took great pride in the restoration of his 1957 Chevrolet BelAir.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Brenda Harper Gray; children, Brendon Lee Gray, Laura Gray Coe (Tracy), Kristi Gray Smith (Tony); grandchildren, Grayson Bentley Coe (Brie), Chandler Lee Coe (Celine), and Easton Harper Coe (Maddie); great-granddaughter, Willow Rae Coe; and an adopted grandson, Derek Gansauer and fiancée, Sherrill Alsop.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Virginia Museum of Transportation 303 Norfolk Avenue Roanoke, 24016.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home, Roanoke, by Sheldon Cosma. Interment was in Forest Chapel Cemetery Cloverdale. The family received friends from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, August 24, at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
