Muddy Squirrel LLC, Botetourt County Recreation and Facilities, and STEP Paranormal will present the Fifth Annual Haunted Hike at Greenfield Park this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 and 28.
Guided tours of the park’s woods and fields will leave from the Cherry Blossom Trail parking lot near the Honey Bee Sanctuary just off US 220 at 7 and 8:30 p.m. both days. A 5:30 p.m. tour will be offered Saturday only.
Haunted Hike offers a combination of spooky local legends and historical tidbits from Botetourt County’s rich past: “A time when the nights were darker and the mountains were more wild and dangerous.”
Highlights of the evening include a campfire with marshmallows, two cemeteries to visit, and numerous ghost stories.
The event is family-friendly. Tickets for adults are $10, youth tickets are $7, those under 6 are free.
