Gary Wayne “GW” Hall was born October 13, 1955 in Pulaski, Va. He passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and suffering.
Gary was clever and filled to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences: HVAC technician, electrician, mechanic, all-around outdoorsman, motorcycle enthusiast and on and on – he could fix or build anything. We will all miss his encyclopedia of common sense fix-it remedies.
After retiring he loved to travel and discover new places and new experiences with Cyndi, his life partner. This love for travel and new adventures led them to Verbena, Alabama where he loved the country lake life of Lake Mitchell. He called it home for the past three years.
Gary leaves behind his loyal and loving partner, Cynthia Butler; his pride and joy, his sons, Brian Hall, Jason (Carmen) Hall, Joshua (Manisha) Hall; two precious sisters, Doris (Eddie) Williams, Evelyn (Jim Parks) (Dennis) Hopkins; grandchildren, Amanda Joseph, Kirsten Stevens, Brandon Hall, Willy Rutz, Madison Brill, Brian Hall, Jr., Jeffrey “J.R.” Hall, Matthew Hall, Shane Hall, Emma Hall and Eli Hall; 11 great-grandchildren; and many loving family members.
Gary was preceded in death by, son Gary Hall, Jr.; father, Shirley Morton Hall; mother, Dorothy Lucille Hall; brother, Danny (Kathryn) Hall; granddaughter, Brianna Victoria Hall.
Thank you will never be enough for these special people in his life, Randall and Earlene Edwards, Ruth and Rogelio Guerra.
He will be remembered for his beautiful eyes and smile. He shared his heart with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength and full of love. He will be missed dearly.
Visitation will take place at National Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Va., on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 3-5 p.m., continuing on Saturday at 12 noon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., followed by burial.
