Katherine “Kathy” Montgomery Hammond, 67, of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, and is now resting and rejoicing with her savior, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. Montgomery, Jr. and Rebecca McClelland Montgomery; brother, Thomas “Tommy” Montgomery; and special friend, Connie Skibinski.
Kathy was a caring, loving LPN for over 40 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 47 years, John Hammond; daughter, Alicia Braxton and husband, Bryan; son, Joshua Earl Hammond; grandchildren, Kahlique and Khaliyl White; step-grandson, Bryson Braxton; brothers, James “Jim” Montgomery and wife, Sharon; Robert Montgomery and wife, Rita; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Bates and husband, Mark; sister-in-law and special friend, Darlene “Dolly” Montgomery; special friend, Ruth Johns; and many treasured nieces, nephews, and their children.
The family received friends on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services followed at 4 p.m. with Retired Pastor Earl Clemons and Pastor Wayne Wyatt officiating. The burial was private. Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com or 540-254-3000.
